However, the narrative was far from over. Danny Boulton, the man of the hour, completed his hat trick in the 70th minute. His third goal of the match putting Yorkshire Main back in the lead and on the brink of victory.
As the match neared its conclusion, Brandon Burke delivered the final blow for Dinnington in the 88th minute. His goal sealed the win for Yorkshire Main, ensuring that the spoils of victory belonged to the home side.
The drama, however, did not end with the final goal. In the 92nd minute, Dinnington Town's challenging afternoon took another turn for the worse as they saw one leading scorer Jordan Turner sent off, adding a final twist to an already dramatic encounter.
When the final whistle blew, the scoreline read 4-2 in favor of Yorkshire Main.
Dinnington Town are next in action Tuesday, 27th February, at home to Dearne and District in the semi final of the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup. Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
