Dinnington Town continued their unbeaten run in the league with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Worksop Town Reserves, securing their fourth win in as many matches.


This result further cements their early dominance in the campaign, despite facing a demanding schedule with their second away fixture in the space of a week.


The match got off to an intense start, with Dinnington Town looking to impose themselves early on. Their efforts were rewarded just ten minutes into the game when Jack Appleyard, making his debut for the club, found the back of the net.


However, Worksop Town Reserves, determined to make life difficult for the visitors, responded with resilience. They gradually grew into the game and managed to draw level. The equaliser, a well-taken goal, came as a result of sustained pressure that Dinnington Town’s defence. The home side's persistence paid off, making it 1-1 on the day


As the second half progressed, both teams pushed for a decisive goal.


The encounter was finely balanced, with neither side willing to give an inch. But it was Dinnington Town who regained the lead towards the latter part of the second half , thanks to a Mitch Carlton.


His strike put Dinnington Town back in control at 2-1.


The closing moments of the match were marked by tension and drama, especially with seven minutes of added time being played although the officials had indicated 3 minutes.


Worksop Town Reserves threw everything at Dinnington Town in search of an equaliser, but the visitors, showing grit and determination, held firm to see out the game.


This victory, their fourth consecutive win in the league, underscores Dinnington Town's strong start to the season.


The team’s ability to grind out results, even when under pressure, will undoubtedly serve them well as the campaign progresses.
