Full Time: Thorne Colliery 4-0 Dinnington Town

Dinnington Town suffered another away day defeat in the league. Dinno had started brightly with three good chances for Aaron Moxam in the opening 20 minutes. On the half hour mark a Thorne shot from from 30 yards came off the inside of the post and that proved to be a warning sign.

On 34 minutes Josh Gelder put Thorne ahead with a header at the back post and in first half stoppage time Gelder grabbed his second giving them a 2-0 lead at the break. Dinnington Town started the second half lively with Justin Circuit being denied but Thorne grabbed their third goal of the game on 67 minutes when Toby Marriott pushed home from close range following a free kick. The scoring was completed on 74 minutes with the goal of the game from Lewis Scorer who curled the ball into the top corner from 30 yards. All in all a frustrating afternoon for Dinnington Town who had the better of the first half hour, but couldn’t find the breakthrough. Then two goals before the break left Dinnington Town with a mountain to climb. Then another two goals in the second half, as Dinnington Town pressed on, made it comfortable win for the hosts.
