In their return to league action, Dinnington Town continued their unbeaten run with a commanding 3-0 away victory over Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves.


This victory, their 11th straight in the league, saw them extend their lead at the top of the table to six points over second-placed Doncaster City.


The match started at a steady pace, with both teams looking to gain control of the midfield.


Dinnington Town, brimming with confidence from their winning streak, began to assert themselves as the first half progressed.


Their pressure paid off in the 23rd minute when Brad Kerr broke the deadlock, putting Dinnington Town 1-0 up.


Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves fought hard to respond but struggled to create clear-cut chances against Dinnington Town's well-organised defence.


As the half-time whistle blew, Dinnington Town headed into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead, having controlled much of the first 45 minutes.


The second half saw Staveley try to find a way back into the game, but it was Dinnington Town who struck again in the 56th minute. A mix-up in the Staveley defence led to an unfortunate own goal, doubling Dinnington Town's advantage to 2-0.


This setback seemed to knock the wind out of the home side’s sails, and Dinnington Town took full control of the game.


Just 10 minutes later, the result was effectively sealed. Will Eades made it 3-0 to Dinnington in the 66th minute, capping off a well-worked move by the visitors.


From that point on, it was a comfortable affair for Dinnington Town, who saw out the remainder of the game with ease. Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves, despite their best efforts, were unable to break down the league leaders' solid backline.


The final whistle confirmed Dinnington’s 3-0 victory, a result that not only maintained their unbeaten league record but also extended their lead at the top of the table.


Dinnington Town are next in action on Friday 11th October, away to Harowrth Colliery in the Black Dragon Premier Division North. Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
