Dinnington Town continued their unstoppable run in the league with a resounding 1-8 away victory against Rossington Main Reserves, making it seven wins from seven and firmly cementing their position at the top of the table.


The match began with both sides testing the waters, but it was Dinnington Town who struck first in the 21st minute. Corey Graves opened the scoring, calmly slotting the ball past the Rossington Main goalkeeper to make it 0-1.


This early breakthrough set the tone for what would become a dominant display by the league leaders.


However, Rossington Main Reserves managed to claw their way back into the match just eight minutes later. A well-taken goal brought them level at 1-1, offering a brief glimpse of hope for the home side. But this moment of parity was short-lived.


Dinnington Town responded almost immediately, showcasing their resilience and attacking prowess. Within 60 seconds of conceding, Joe Turner restored Dinnington Town’s lead, making it 1-2 with a finish that left the Rossington defence reeling.


As the first half progressed, Dinnington Town's superiority became increasingly evident. On 35 minutes, the in-form Brad Kerr continued his remarkable scoring run by netting his first goal of the evening to make it 1-3.


Bard Kerr, who has been in scintillating form, wasn’t content with just one. Six minutes later, he struck again, extending Dinnington Town’s lead to 1-4 and effectively putting the game out of reach before the half-time whistle.


The second half began much as the first had ended, with Dinnington Town in complete control.


Just six minutes after the restart, Nat Jessop added his name to the scoresheet, making it 1-5.


With the game all but won, Dinnington Town made a series of substitutions, giving key players a rest while allowing others to make their mark.


Cam Evans, delivered another moment of magic in the 79th minute. The man of the match produced a stunning chip from outside the area, catching the Rossington goalkeeper off his line and making it 1-6 to Dinnington Town.


Cam Evans wasn’t done yet. Just five minutes later, DinningtonTown were awarded a penalty. Although Travis Hodgson's initial effort was saved, Cam Evans reacted quickly to slot home the rebound, further increasing the lead to 1-7.


The final act of the night came just seconds later, when Brodie Cooper got in on the action, adding an eighth goal to complete the rout. His quick-fire strike made it 1-8, capping off an extraordinary performance by Dinnington Town.


The final whistle confirmed the emphatic victory, with Dinnington Town not only extending their perfect league record but also sending a clear message to the rest of the division. As they sit proudly at the top of the table, their form and firepower suggest that this team is going to be hard to stop.


Dinnington Town are next in action on Saturday 31st August, away to unbeaten Blidworrh Welfare in the Black Dragon Premier Division North. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
