Dinnington Town strengthened their grip at the top of the table with a commanding 5-1 away victory over Elite AFC at the Dorothy Hyman Sports Centre.
The win maintains their relentless march towards promotion, with just eight league games remaining, five of which are at home and three away.
However, it was the hosts who struck first, opening the scoring inside five minutes to give Elite AFC an early lead.
Dinnington Town responded swiftly. Just three minutes later, Will Eades levelled the contest with a header direct from a Cam Evans corner, Will's ninth of the campaign, ensuring the visitors didn’t trail for long.
As the first half progressed, both sides battled for control, but it was Dinnington Town who made the breakthrough just before the interval.
Brad Kerr found the net in the 44th minute finishing well from a Cammy Evans cross to the far post, sending the league leaders into the break with a 2-1 advantage.
After the restart, Dinnington Town maintained their intensity and extended their lead in the 67th minute, as an unfortunate own goal from the hosts as they struggled to deal with a low ball in from the right by Cammy Evans, put them firmly in control.
Five minutes later, Nat Jessop added a fourth from a Cam Evans pass, before Brad Kerr struck again in the 80th minute with a volley from, yes, you guessed it, a Cam Evans cross to complete a dominant performance.
The result further cements Dinnington Town’s position at the top of the table, with momentum firmly in their favour as they enter the final stretch of the season.
Next up, they return home as they continue their push towards the title.
