Our U21's put in another scintillating performance on Wednesday night in the cup.
A cagey start saw both teams have chances in the first 15 minutes. Dinnington hitting the post & crossbar, whilst Staveley won four early corners which they couldn’t convert. Things settled down and Dinnington started to find their stride, dominating the rest of the half. On 16 minutes a trademark mazy run by Louis Seddons culminated in the first goal from the right hand side of the box. Tom Cartledge added a 2nd on 35 minutes with a cool finish after rounding the keeper, and Dinno led 2-0 at half time.
Staveley started the second have well and looked to have got themselves back in the game with a superbly struck shot in to the top corner from the edge of the box. However, this proved the catalyst the lads needed to refocus their efforts. Louis Seddons added his second on 62 minutes before Luke Goodwin sealed the win on 88 minutes following some superb build up play, capping off a man of the match performance.
The U21's are back in action on Monday night with a long away trip down to Long Eaton in the league. If you can make it, the lads would love your support.
