Full Time: Dinnington Town 6-0 Ollerton Town

After an eight-week absence, Dinnington Town returned to home turf at The Blackout13.com Arena with a resounding 6-0 victory over Ollerton Town, extending their unbeaten run to 14 games and solidifying their position as the league's top scorers.

This emphatic win ensures Dinnington Town remain seven points clear of second-placed Doncaster City as the league nears its halfway mark.

Ollerton Town, currently fourth in the league, arrived looking to bounce back after a tough defeat to Harworth Colliery last weekend.

But any hopes they had of frustrating the home side were quickly dashed by a rampant Dinnington team who showed no signs of slowing down after dropping their first points of the season against AFC Bentley last week.

Dinnington Town started brightly, immediately imposing their attacking rhythm and testing the Ollerton Town defence.

It took just 12 minutes for the deadlock to be broken, albeit in slightly fortunate fashion. A driven cross into the box caused panic among the Ollerton Town backline, resulting in a wayward deflection that ended up in the back of the net, gifting Dinnington Town a 1-0 lead through an own goal.

With the early advantage, Dinnington began to assert their authority, and it wasn’t long before Brad Kerr took centre stage. In the 25th minute, Kerr fired a low shot past the Ollerton Town goalkeeper to double the lead.

The prolific forward wasn’t done yet.

Just seven minutes later, Brad Kerr added his second of the match, demonstrating clinical finishing to make it 3-0.

Dinnington Town’s relentless pressure left Ollerton Town with little opportunity to regroup, and the first half went from bad to worse for the visitors.

In the 41st minute, Kerr completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, coolly dispatching his effort past the goalkeeper. It was his 14th goal in 12 games, cementing his place as the league’s top scorer.

With a commanding 4-0 lead at the break, the home fans were in full voice, celebrating a sensational first-half performance from their team.

The second half began much as the first had ended, with Dinnington Town in total control.

Despite the cushion of a four-goal lead, there was no let-up in intensity as they continued to push forward, seeking to add to their tally.

Ollerton Town’s defence had no answer to the fluidity of Dinnington Town's attack, and in the 66th minute, the home side struck again as Liam Royles found the back of the net, making it 5-0.

As the game entered its closing stages, Dinnington Town remained sharp and disciplined, ensuring there were no lapses in concentration at the back.

But they weren’t finished yet and in the 90th minute, Nat Jessop added the final flourish, calmly finishing off a slick team move to cap off a dominant 6-0 victory.

Dinnington Town are next in action on Saturday 2nd November, away to Long Bennington in the Buckingham Insurance Challenge Cup. Kick-off is at 2:00pm.
